Electrical Engineer

Job Requirements:

• P.E. Registration preferred but not required, if no P.E. then looking for EIT
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (related field)
• Ideal Candidate has (2)+ years of electrical design experience involving commercial buildings/structures
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or related CAD program
• Proven knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full range of electrical engineering duties concerned with the design and layout of a variety of electrical systems
• Typical project size is 10 – 20 million (preference is with schools and/or correctional facilities)

Daily Responsibilities:

• Will be working within a team that is responsible for the lay-out and design of commercial buildings.

• Reviews design architect-engineers’ working drawings and specifications which indicate building size and general arrangement and final drawings and specifications, all for conformance with accepted practice and agency requirements.  Makes field surveys to investigate existing equipment layout and conditions. Writes reports recommending corrective action on deficient conditions.
  Analyzes electrical needs, makes calculations and determines types of systems most suitable to meet requirements of building within prescribed budgets.
